Biography

Deirdre is the National HSCP Innovation Fellow and Design Lead with the HSE SPARK Innovation Programme. With over 18 years of experience working on the frontline as a Speech and Language Therapist, and further postgraduate education in Healthcare Innovation and Service Design, Deirdre leads the HSE Spark Design portfolio, engaging designers, frontline clinicians, managers, policy makers and service users to help shape the future of healthcare. Deirdre’s work traverses clinical practice, innovation and research, with a particular focus on using Human Centred Design (HCD) to create impactful, scalable solutions that address the real-world challenges of healthcare delivery. With a strong record in leading innovation across healthcare settings, Deirdre is dedicated to exploring and understanding new ways of applying design to improve patient care, enhance healthcare outcomes, and streamline processes within the system.
